AMASNE is thrilled to host Dr. Aaron Reid, Chief Behavioral Scientist at Sentient Decision Science. During his presentation, Dr. Reid will explore the nature and ethics of conscious and subconscious marketing tactics and research methods, how subconscious marketing influences behavior through the automatic activation of goals, and why we should embrace marketing as the spice of our lives rather than relegate it to the depths of the dangerous and deceptive.

 

During this interactive session, Dr. Reid will share the latest behavior sciences research, illustrating how humans are often largely unaware of the true drivers of their behavior. Using current ad campaigns as examples, he will show the subconscious influences on moods, attitudes, consumer preferences, behavior and basic physiological responses. We will conclude with a discussion about where this subconscious research methods will go in the near future and the implications for the marketing industry.

We are the Southeastern New England Chapter of the American Marketing Association.
Formally established in 1989 as a local chapter of the International American Marketing Association, AMASNE is a Rhode Island-based professional organization, driven by volunteers who are dedicated to advancing the practice of marketing and facilitating new opportunities for local marketing practitioners, students and educators. Our core mission is to be the premiere resource for advancing the practice of marketing and careers of marketing professionals in Rhode Island and Southeastern Massachusetts.

The roots of the AMA can be traced to the early 1900's when the National Association of Teachers of Advertisers and American Marketing Society, comprised of marketers and marketing researchers, merged to bring together marketers, across all specialties to collaborate and inspire one another.
